Artist attended St. Mary's Academy & College in St. Marys, Kansas outside of Topeka. School is currently affiliated with St Pius X Society (pre-Vatican II). My aunt was Dean for ten years.

1881 February - Arrival at St. Mary's of Francis Finn, S.J., Jesuit Scholastic, to teach in the boys' school. He will draw ideas for stories from his experiences here and use them in many books he will write for and about young people - the first Catholic fiction for American youth. In Tom Playfair, published in 1891, and other volumes that followed it, he would immortalize St. Mary's by using it as the setting for the story. Fr. Finn's books would be translated into many languages and St. Mary's would become known worldwide as "Tom Playfair's School." (Read more about Tom Playfair's school here.) One SMC student during Francis Finn's time here was Gutzon Borglum, the future designer / sculptor of Mount Rushmore.

I agree, that massive sculpture of Crazy Horse does need to be finished, What the finished memorial should look like is shown here in front of the mountain with only His face so far is finished and its now 2020. The project was started in 1948 and that was 72 years ago. The sculpture had expected it would take 30 years. The mountain appears in the distance behind this likeness of Him at the Crazy Horse Museum. The second photo show a white outline on the current sculpture what it should be like if when and if ever finished.
