Interesting but... You just knew there was a but. Several, actually. Electromagnetic actuators? Sounds like a potential fail point in the filthy world of combat. And high rates of fire, including firing four rounds simultaneously will eat up a lot of ammo very quickly, won't it? Then there's the business of firing four round simultaneously from what I presume are parallel barrels. No spread, so what's the point? I'm sure the inventor has good answers... or, at least I hope he does.

Yea, I don't know the answers to the typical questions a man on the line would have. If I were to invent a new rifle it would have electronics as well. Mainly:
1) Electronic sites slaved to your helmet - allows you to put the weapon away from your body but still maintain target awareness.
2) Auto shot as you are moving and the "dot" hits center mass of the target - would be harder for a fighting man to get used to but what an awesome add! One shot, one kill.
3) Ultimately; railgun technology with caseless rounds. Imagine a magazine the sixe of the M-16 magazine with 300 rounds.

Ultimately any weapon, including your fist, comes down to how much (kinetic) energy you can put on target. And remember, that energy is potential until contact with a target.

Looks heavy. So does the ammo.
One of the reasons we have a .556 weapon is this exact issue.
I wonder what we can do to reduce weight.
