In most cases when it is discovered an individual has filed fraudulent local, county or state claim of sexual assault not much is done about it, like a misdemeanor dependent on the harm of malicious intent.

Yet, take for instance like a level of malicious intent to cause an unpresented harm to a person through a fraudulent claim, say at a federal level, this individual may have not filed a false report but swore under oath of the sexual assault, at this level the false accusations can be prosecuted as a felony.

It is interesting that the information in the 'People' magazine article directly contradicts the information in the NY Times article.
