I remember when Porter Cable was a quality power tool, then they were bought by Stanley Black & Decker. For the most part they are made in the same plant in China, now. They're low quality, homeowner grade tools whose operating life is a one or two hundred operator hours, IF you baby them. Craftsmen power tools are already at that level now. It'll be a solid decade of high performance ratings before I bet my money on a Stanley Black & Decker product, no matter what label they slap on it. I might as well buy Master Mechanic power tools, same quality, half or less the price.
