Many officers are been fired lately from all services. A common denominator is bad command climate. These traits have probably shown at the company - as junior officers - level as well so why the services don’t recognize these personality behavior in advanced?

MAJ Rivera, I wonder if it is a product of being at war for so long that created this. When many of these senior officers were junior officers the wars were going hot and heavy and as a result many things were "overlooked" including poor company command climates. Just a thought.

The article says he was brought back into Active Reserve. Maybe he got too much of a taste of civilian life and didn't know how to turn it off when activated.

In short army experienced I had the dissatisfaction of seen many senior Os and Enlisted been extremely toxic IOT get top remarks on their reports; both in command and in staff. Most of it during the ‘90s and early 2000s.

As one rises in rank in the military so does their education through professional military education courses as well as required college. A good commander or a good senior NCO learns from that education and needs to be able to change their management approach and leadership style to best fit the situation and for bringing about the desired results. Those senior officers and senior NCOs that can't do that or exhibit this ability are the ones that usually run afoul of things and end up being fired or transferred.
