Hmmm....label me skeptical on the last part (the perfectly invisible blanket that doesn't use any power or need any instructions). Even if we assume the fabric could "sense" and emulate it's most immediate surroundings, how would it differentiate the soldier/sailor/airman from the dirt or grass he was laying on? Wouldn't the blanket create a perfect representation of its complete background (including the hiding human) without some active component differentiating "hider" from "environment"?
