Cold War is over. World is safe. Glad we cut the military..... bunch of idiots who do not realize we have a war every time we downsize, WWII, Korea, VN, Desert Storm, and GWOT. Weakness is what really causes war.

Any ideas what the purpose of this exercise is? Surely not to intimidate the USA, and they know we will be gleaning every iota of military intelligence while it’s happening.

I believe this is intended as a show of force leading into their large SONF exercise. They are doing a mini ZAPAD in the West, exercising around the Crimea, a large east Med naval exercise, and an air defense exercise in Kapustin Yar. The worry is the increased play with China following the first ever H-6 deployment to Russia in July and now their large contingent in VOSTOK. It will occur during the eastern economic forum in Vladivostok where both Putin and Xi will be attending.

The cold war is not over! Vladimir Putin has a sore Papa and he wants the Baltic states and Poland back something that was negotiated away with Hitler before the beginning of World War II. How stupid is that? No wonder all of Eastern Europe wants to be part of NATO
