I understand the importance of contacts within an organization but 6 sounds like a lot, especially when its not stated how to gain those contacts - RallyPoint, LinkedIn, Job fairs, communities of practice. I'm still sharing it, though.

Jacqueem, thanks for the insight. Six does seem like a lot, but it isn't a lot. Internal contacts are the critical keys to getting through the electronic resume screening process so you can talk and be seen by actual live human beings. Vets do best when they can interact with people and internal contacts are the best way to do that.

LTC Chad Storlie - I understand all of that. Again, my point is that it sounds overwhelming without a short list of ways to acquire those 6 contacts.

Here are some ideas:
1) LinkedIn Company Search
2) Names in local newspaper
3) Investor Page on Company Website
4) Board of Directors and Executive list on Company Website
5) Rallypoint members
6) Google search using the "@COMPANYNAME.COM" can find employee names and emails.
7) See if the company has a military veteran employee resource group (ERG) and then contact them.
Again, great feedback!

LTC Chad Storlie - You're not getting what I'm saying. My only point is that's not in the article. But again, good article. Take care.

LTC Chad Storlie: I hope you don't mind the fact, Sir, that I shared your post onto my Facebook Homepage; and, subsequently with the Facebook groups of which I am the coach.
