I don't have any sympathy for the SFC 1SG … but I don't understand why his name was released and the private's was not. Both were punished and her relationship with him was consensual and not coerced ... so she is not a victim. While I don't care whether I know either of their names, releasing one without the other lends a perception of favoritism and special treatment of females to the incident.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - Typically the media will not publish the names of victims of sexual assaults. Were she a victim, I'd understand it … but she isn't, at least according to the article. I agree with you that the reason isn't that she is female … but absent an explanation, that is the perception that is created.

My guess is that they ate trying not to stigmatize one of the first handful of female infantry Soldiers early on in the integration process. Much as the Army would have you think otherwise, the scarlet letter follows you.

Anybody who has ever been to Fayetteville knows that Paddy's is not where you go for a secret rendezvous. That place is crawling with joes.
And that First Sergeant is a retard.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - Maybe getting after someone half your age has allure if you don't have a moral compass.
The stakes are so high for someone like this, though.
Almost certainly, not his first time, either.
