I am interested in the spousal employment because military spouses are at a disadvantage for employment. I hoped that all veterans and disabled veterans can shop at the commissary to help balance the books.

Two things that still affect me as a retiree:
1. Long-term travel per diem rates - As a Civil Service Employee working with an operational unit I can't begin to say how much this has affected us in a negative way. We've spent a significant amount of time trying to negotiate with hotels to get the 75% rate, cycling personnel in/out, to avoid the issue, all affecting the planning and execution of our missions. On top of that I spent even more time going back and forth with leadership to assure them we were doing our due diligence to negotiate the rates. Glad this horrible rule is now gone.
2. Tricare fees remain stable - I think this one speaks for itself. Now if they could just fix the administration side of the military medical system.

Bottom line I have to give big kudos to Congress for passing this.
