Personally got his autograph when I was 12 years old. (Yanks were at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore playing "the birds".

Mantle signed his picture for me at a spring training game when I was 9 years old.
My father had taken me to the game. He did not play in the game but was walking
by me after the game with pitcher Whitey Ford when I showed him the photo and
asked him to sign it. He was really nice and said sure kid. My dad put the picture in
a glass frame. I was not a NY Yankee fan but I did like the "Mick".

Dave, do you remember when we were kids playing baseball? Everyone wanted to be Mickey Mantle. Lol. SGT David A. 'Cowboy' Groth

SGT (Join to see) - Really loved "the Mick" but I was always pretending to be Cleveland outfielder Rocky Colavito. Couldn't be a cooler name than that in the eyes of a ten year old.

SGT (Join to see) - growing up on the farm didn't leave much time for that.
