CDC sees rise of pregnant women addicted to opioids – especially in 4 states - WDEF

As the opioid epidemic continues to wreak havoc across the country, a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) sheds light on the devastating consequences opioid addiction can have on pregnant women. The analysis, published Thursday in CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, found that the number of women with opioid use disorder (OUD) at labor and delivery more than quadrupled from 1999 to 2014.


I don't really care who this upsets - if you are using drugs while pregnant you are nothing more than an incubator. If your doctor prescribes something and it affects you negatively, stop taking it. You don't have to take anything you don't want. I just have zero sympathy for drug addicts after being with one for five years. I stayed so long because I was brainwashed that "addiction is a disease." No it's not. It's a choice.

Funny how this is an "epidemic" when it's middle class white people but the crack epidemic resulted in arrests because the black community was largely affected.
