Trader Joe's Employee Killed In Hostage Situation Was Shot By Police Bullet

I live nearby, and the local ABC station made a big deal out of it, but there were not many people to comment saying anything bad about the cops. It was a tragedy, but how many people were saved? We were in the military, and we understand the harsh reality of sometimes you lose one to save many!

Actually on this one, I do not agree with most sentiments here. I served also as a part time sworn Deputy Sheriff. Combined with my federal service and military police service, I have been through a number of academy and training courses.

I DO blame the police for her death in this one. Here's why.

I HAVE seen the full video of what happened from TWO different body cameras. Both officers immediately jumped out of their car when the suspects vehicle crashed into a store front... and the moment they jumped out of the car, both opened fire on the suspect who not only had a BUNCH of innocent civilians on the sidewalk behind him, but in other cars sitting there at the stoplight too...

As the suspect ran INTO the store, both cops CONTINUED firing at him.. INTO the store..

Sorry, but the way I was trained, you DO NOT ever shoot in a situation like that, especially when they are a good 30 yards or more away from the suspect trying to hit him long distance with a sidearm to boot.

It is pure luck that no one else was hit. Nothing more, nothing less.. luck. By them firing into that store from outside, they had NO idea where those rounds would end up... and as we know now.. one did end up killing someone innocent.
