I'd like to take this opportunity (tongue definitely in cheek) to challenge just what exactly "white" means anyway... if you look at the population of the U.S. alone; you've got "Caucasian" folks who possess the genetic traces of numerous ethnic groups, including many recognized "minorities". Then, if the discussion is about "privilege", by this logic shouldn't we assign "levels" of privilege based on race of origin? I mean, who had it "worse" a century and a half ago; German immigrants living in the Midwest, Irish immigrants living in New York, or Poles in Texas? How about Russians after 1917? Are we really going to suggest that a family that arrived less than a century ago has the same "privilege" as one that arrived in the 17th Century? Who suffered more recent effects of slavery; those who were emancipated in the mid 19th Century...or those who came here as Serfs?
Hmmm...tricky, tricky.
I may sound trite or dismissive; and perhaps I mean to be...Those who think this way must be either severely short-sighted, or tremendously committed to something nefarious-I think it's about 70/30. The history of the world is a very long story; racism, hatred, genocide...they've all been experienced by virtually every race at some time. Human relationships are too complex to generalize, however we are compelled by experiences to form bias...it happens. If you kick a dog, it learns to fear all humans...if you feed a bear, it keeps coming to humans for food. In the end, the only difference is why one person would kick a dog...and another would feed a bear. "Good" people realize that compassion compels us to give the benefit of the doubt....wisdom compels us to be cautious.
So long as these ideologues "demand" that "I" acknowledge some "extra" liability to them...I cannot agree with them. We should be working towards tabula rasa...not a balancing of the scales.

I am afraid the equality cannot, and will not ever be achieved. as long as one group of individuals can claim the victim status, the other will be labeled the victimizer. Additionally, as long as history is used to beat people over the head in current times, tranquility and equality will evade us. IMHO...

Well said. However, I don't personally believe anyone is seeking "equality". My sense is that a large majority of people are jumping on the "equality bandwagon" because it satisfies the human hunger for conflict...without requiring any actual sacrifice to participate, or simply because it is the "populist" cause. Controlling/using this majority is an elitist, humanist minority who see the "equality" argument as a catalyst for socialism and statism. These are the folks who are intelligent enough to understand the difference between Locke and Marx...and willfully devious enough to select the latter.

I know several Indian immigrants who love this country and get along well with their white colleagues and other people. Some waited years while spending a fortune to become citizens. She is a disgrace.
