In Woman Walks Ahead, a New York City activist and artist named Catherine Weldon (played by Jessica Chastain) travels across the United States to paint the great Native American chief Sitting Bull. The role of Sitting Bull is portrayed with humor and complexity by Michael Greyeyes, who is Plains Cree and hails from Muskeg Lakes First Nation in Canada.

Unfortunately today indigenous people are being vacated from their lands, or the lands are deforested. Indigenous people are also subject to genocide and mass violence for their lands and resources.

One I will look for. However, I must admit I am always a bit skeptical of movies that want to depict and "accurate" picture of a person from history, especially a well known one like Sitting Bull. I will be especially interested in seeing how the film depicts the assassination of Sitting Bull.
