It is very humbling to have high anxiety, inability to sleep well, nightmares, racing thoughts, pacing the floor, deep depression, and not knowing if you can be helped.

That is just crazy stuff. We know that every war has produced PTSD inflicted individuals.

MAJ Ken Landgren until research until Research into Domestic Violence described the syndrome in women there wasn’t even a DSM-III category for it. It wasn’t until DSM-IV that it started to show up.
Prior to DSM-IV most folks were diagnosed as either ‘Situational Adjustment Reaction’ or ‘Mixed Personality Disorders with Explosive Features’
