So this is a multi layer situation.
1. The Courts came down and stated that freedom of speech and religion will not be put down when a business uses religion to justify their personally held beliefs.
What this mean is that business owners are allowed to legally deny their services to others, despite missing business, they're within their legal right to deny service to others they disagree with.
2. When number one was sited as a victory, the Press Secretary shouldn't have been surprised when she was asked to leave an establishment based on freedom of speech. Unsure why it's considered news worthy, like when we got a 28 year old who never held office won an election for an office. Last time I saw that is President Trump and President Reagan when he ran for governor in California. It's nothing new.
3. It is hypocritical when you have a business support the LGBT community in one breath and then deny members of the Trump Administration the next. But I'll point back to number one, whereas freedom of speech and religion falls into freedom of association. This means a business can deny some while support others. I find it ate up but these businesses are within their legal right without government interference.
4. As for the trans woman, regardless of supporting our trans Americans there is a risk of safety involved. As a soldier who happens to be trans, I follow the law and do what's required of me socially, legally and morally so I can have my private life and life as a Soldier. What I got from that interview is that, the woman didn't want to produce identification. Yes, I would get upset getting called out, but my identification is straight so that there are no issues when I go on and off post. And if she feels that offended and upset, personally boycott the business. That's it.
