Most times when the media talks about someone having an "Arsenal" of firearms I look at the pile of guns on the table and think "Well that's a nice starter kit". But there is no way I could get that pile of guns past my wife.

I would need a separate house that my wife didn't know about to compile that many firearms.

Most people forget that it isn't that a felon had 500 guns (if he did) it's that a felon had one gun. Irrespective, I will assume that each firearm will be a separate charge. I suspect some funny business between the ATF and the offender.
I took a close look at the firearms in the photo and at least 90% are antique bolt action rifles. It isn't inconceivable that the felon is also a gun collector. An interesting question would be has he committed any violent crimes involving the use of firearms since his last conviction? How long ago was his last felony conviction?
