Even though Canada is being criticized today, the British refused to help us in 1979 hide the Americans that we're not caught at the US Embassy in Iran. I know you are tired of the Beltway media daily bull crap so here is a story of an unsung hero that won't be reported in the United States media.

Argo Airport Scene 5

I gotta say - those black & whites chasing the Boeing 747 were cute - but they’d be blown and rolled off the tarmac by those huge turbofans. Guys in a pickup truck with a mounted 50 cal can chase a turboprop job like an AN-12b (Soviet C-130 knockoff) for awhile but not massive civilian jet transport aircraft. I personally never liked Ethiopia, Liberia, Somalia - but there were opportunities at one time to make a difference ferrying a few things for local leaders. Of course nearly everyone involved in those supply flights is dead or serving time!

Of course - in the real world - there was no chase - because if the Iranians were aware of the exfiltration - they would most likely have threatened and ordered the a/c to turn back. While civilian pilots may be brave enough - no one is going to argue with armed fighters. Warmest Regards, Sandy :)
