Look...one can find that sort of weirdness going back all the way to the beginning...everyone knows Benjamin Franklin was a profligate, Grover Cleveland acknowledged a KO'd that might he his, Tat's where the old chant came from, "Ma, Ma, where's my Pa, gone to the White House, ha, ha, ha...", a group of political bigwigs and clergy confronted him about it before his first election, he to his credit said tell the truth...Harding was DNA proven to have had an entire family line, I saw a documentary on it...even the Jefferson thing was !mentioned in a documentary on an association of presidential descendants, where one of her dscemdamts with him was there, and openly acknowledged...no one likes tearing down mythology, however, what I find interesting about this case, is that here was one of the most ostensibly enlightened minds of the latter 18th and early 19th centuries, and get the antebellum South totally corrupted him, despite the sheer caliber of his mind...that, of nothing else, I find rather incongruous, and a weird commentary on supposed genius, to say the least, you know?

Oney "Ona" Judge (c.1773 – February 25, 1848), known as Oney Judge Staines after marriage, was a mixed-race slave on George Washington's plantation, Mount Vernon, in Virginia.[1] Beginning in 1789, she worked as a personal slave to First Lady Martha Washington in the presidential households in New York City and Philadelphia.
