Why would anyone do this to a weapon? It reminds me of the time when some buddies and I were swapping an engine in a car and after draining the oil and water we wondered what would happen if we ran it without lubricate and cooling? So we fired it up and waited. We placed a rock on the accelerator to speed up the end. What happened? Nothing. The engine raced for more than 15 minutes. We could smell the bearing babbitt burning. We turned it off and tried restarting but it was locked up tight. I guess this gun may have been on its way to the scrap heap and that's where it is now...
