In 1947, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was founded to unify various standards and make them international. In 1959 in the United States, suppliers to the military had to satisfy “Quality Program Requirements” which required what suppliers had to do. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) implemented the same requirements in 1962.
Auditors from the Great Western Registrar will visit the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex (Oc-ALC) June 11-15, 2018, to conduct their annual AS9110 audit. The reason for the audit is to ensure OC-ALC continues to meet stringent industry standards for aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul. Base members were encouraged to use the opportunity to validate that OC-ALC is the forefront of aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul for the Air Force Sustainment Center, Air Force Material Command, the Air Force and the aviation industry.
Good luck to the Tinker AFB Community on a successful ISO 9001/AS9110 Audit. And have a great Air & Space Day. Defensor Fortis!
