This one is very close to home. Thankfully my mom uses the VA regularly but it's still a terrifying thought I hold onto while in service. As for myself, I won't talk about what's happened to me but that I had no idea that others had these hard feelings post military. The idea of seperating is incredibly terrifying and even developing a positive, concrete social support network while in uniform is incredibly difficult. Between my mom's experiences I've witnessed first hand and my own, maybe I need to take better care of myself.

LCDR Rabbah Rona Matlow,SPC Margaret Higgins what do you both think?

SFC (Join to see): I think that taking better care of yourself, Dianna, is and would be an excellent idea. Take breaks in your day. Breathe in to the count of four s-l-o-w-l-y; and exhale to the count of four the same way. Remember for me please, Dianna, how loved you are by me, and by all of us here on Rally Point. You may not believe me, Dianna; however, I am sure that this is true. With my Love for You, Staff Sergeant Nazzal- Margaret

Dianna, self care is always vital. And that takes many forms. The things you do to destress at the end of the day are always good, getting help for the issues you grapple with, coming to terms with your mortality, etc. And know that I'm pulling for you and I'm here for you.

Does the Marine Corps have WTBs or WTUs? I have known soldiers with PTSD that were chaptered out for not conforming. Some leaders just don't understand PTSD.

This was a difficult article to read. The story of this Marine is heartbreaking. More needs to be done for those transitioning out of the service.
