Seems like marijuana has been a borderline drug for quite a while. Borderline = not quite hard core heroin, cocaine, etc. but also not something society deems acceptable like alcohol.

True. So is tobacco and tobacco also bad for the mouth. Alcohol bad for the brain and the liver. We can outlaw a lot of stuff because of the ill effects it has on the body. But I agree with you.
