in the late 60's, whenever my ship was near Korea or northern China, we had a Soviet DE following us 24/7 and a Soviet bomber overhead, at least during the day.
The US and Soviet pilots would play cat & mouse "games" over the Med as well.
Same crap, different day but still scary.

This has sacred me since the 50's,, 2 countries playing cat& mouse,, I have always feared a mishap, unintentional but catastrophic. One "hot-shot" on either side and there goes the ball game.
