Sir,
If this true it would be sad. I am head to the Memorial now.

LTC (Join to see), I read the article and the park superintendent doesn't seem all that concerned to me. He came across with a rather "comme ci, comme ça" attitude from my perspective. Seems like the bosses need to have a serious conversation with this guy about his career path.

There are TWO National Parks I think most Americans consider Sacred to themselves. Pearl Harbor in the presence of the Arizona and Ellis Island. Neither has been well maintained. This does say something about the mission of the NPS and its priorities.

My Wife and I Lived in Aiea and overlooked the Memorial from our home. I have taken many Sea Cadets there from 1976 to 1979 and the Memorial was well maintained and FREE to everyone. The Navy ran the tour boats then, I do not know if we do now or if they have also been taken over by the Park Service.

After reading the article I am shocked and saddened and have to wonder WHO is getting rich on this? Someone is supplying the tickets to the tour companies for a profit! What is next, charging admission to Arlington? Oh wait, the Park Service is not in charge of the cemetery (yet).
