Unlike most developed countries, China thinks in the long term. They will take the interest on $1.2T from our National Debt, along with our negative $400B balance of trade while encroaching on the Indo-Pacific, the Arctic and other “friendlies”. At some point, militarily and financially, they will be prepared act to establish global hegemony. JMHO

The Philippines just ratified the creation of 5 US bases in that country. This should help in China's claim the South China Sea is her exclusive domain.

Not sure on that one Ken - those days of US bases in the PI are past - we got agreement a couple years back to operate with them on their bases. Then came the Obama falling out.. and the negative campaign against the US.. and the turn in the Philippines PRC relations..
