Seems strange considering the repubs passed an amendment in 1996 that effectively took away their funding for gun research and so the cdc hasn't done any since then. But if this "lost"info proves to be true and accurate, I would think the repubs will be jumping up and down to restore funding and ordering the CDC to do more studies ASAP.

Seems often no matter what the survey they all remain suspect pro or con on gun control. The way questions are asked or what is asked often predetermine the expected result. The fact a survey was conducted isn't often a measure of much of anything except and attempt to influence our views. The all to often are one sided questions and don't seek factual information or valid choices of the individuals polled. All to often they also shop for the audience that will answer the questions they want in the manner they want to support their own views. I don't think I'll comment on this so called survey either !

PO3 Bob McCord - That is for certain and so often the bias is so apparent on many surveys . I looked at this one and although i sure aren't in the anti-gun group I'm not convinced this survey is valid either. I read it and had doubts Myself, I don't profess to know how others here thought about it but it would be interesting to hear the opinions.

Of course the source reporting it is what people will latch on to when attempting to disregard it even though it sources the CDC directly.
Anyone spending any time around firearms knew this was fairly accurate as was already.

Cpl Tom Surdi - Truthful statement there. It lends validity to your point to link the official source for certain.

CPT Zachary Brooks - When it comes to articles like this, I believe it's important to include all facts and materials related to the article. Otherwise it becomes propaganda used to bolster ones own ideas and beliefs, rather than a fact finding article.

Cpl Tom Surdi - That is what I was alluding to. The "Daily Wire" tends to be used by those on the right to bludgeon their points home and therefore many on the left outright dismiss them, similar to Slate or the Huffington Post.
It would be best to find the study and link that study directly instead.
