Is it true that if you wounded the thug and did not kill him he can sue your estate and make you pennyless? If so, the laws need to be changed. My Dad knew a retired Marine who said that if this man broke into his house at night he would kill him with a bayonet laying in wait in the dark. LOL

what happens in a home shooting depends on the state and circumstances. In TX if they are in your house and don't belong there, I think you have unlimited options if you fear for your life.
