What a creative device!

I like the idea. It's something I've thought about many, many times over the years. I mean, what if the technology existed which could allow humans to recall everything - every taste, smell, fact, etc.? I would have to argue that there is more involved to intelligence. Sure, I'd love to be able to recall everything I've ever forgotten about computers, cars, and anything else technical I've ever learned. However, without my practical (how to actually use that information) knowledge I'd just be another encyclopedia.

Yes, some would argue that being able to recall everything about a programming language would in fact give them practical knowledge of that language. While there may be a tiny bit of validity to that, there is also the place that the knowledge is useless. A 4 year old can learn the alphabet, but until they learn the words, and spelling of those words, it's merely background information.

Whether this amplification takes place with artificial means (computer chips which run on bio-electrical energy), or through genetic mapping and alteration I'd love to see it before I kick off. It would be real handy with remembering all the damned passwords I have to use on a regular basis.
