I think this sounds like a good rotation for Guard/Reserve units. The LUH-72 detachments already play a role in this, why not throw MPs and others into the mix? I'm sure that MPs would much prefer a trip to the border over a trip to Gitmo.

CPO (Join to see) - Yes Engineers would be very useful on the boarder. Depending on the unit and rotation I am sure that some could be used in a rotation for construction. They could be used and where to get them from would be something that pentagon leaders would need to work out. I am sure that they could find some to work on the wall.

SSG (Join to see) - We had Battalions already do construction down there in 2006, when the border fence was approved , and they rotated until 2009, under guess who POTUS 44

MSG (Join to see) - So are the Seabees, but problem is they have down sized, and have real world missions. Would save money having them do parts of it.

There are lots of Spanish-speaking soldiers like myself who could actually help. I know we aren't supposed to detain them so we can least can give basic instructions to the migrants until the border patrol takes over. I'm sure Governor Jerry Brown and most of the legislature California are on the potty today over this, Ora Le Simone!

My mother is from Honduras and I go there yearly to see her. She has dementia and is living the last chapter of her life comfortably with my uncle who is a couple years older than her but who does not have dementia. She legally came to United States in 1960. She studied in South America. Back then, she flew in a DC-3 to Chile, Argentina and Peru to study. The last few decades, Central and South America have been plagued by drug wars. Different drug gangs are outgunning the often corrupt local government and their bid to stem the drug war that has been fostered by druggies and organized crime in the United States and Canada and using Mexico, the Pacific, the Caribbean and the Atlantic as shipping points. I hope our presidents also sends more troops to Central and South America to stop the drug cartels.. What is ironic, is that the opioid crisis is out of control but the US government doesn't do enough about it because DEA agent attorneys leave the DEA and go work for the Pharmaceuticals to come up with changes in the law that allows small-time doctor's order millions of pills to the attics and nothing can be done about it because the new laws tie the hands of The Drug Enforcement Administration.

The global war on terrorism she also beat the global war on drugs and druggies. The pharmaceutical companies have already change the laws as listed in this 60 Minutes story. I hope president Trump fixes this big loophole soon! This is one reason why we have so many illegal aliens from Mexico, Central and South America coming north to get away from the drug war. Mexico has replaced police Chiefs and Mayors with retired military because of the corruption. The drug gangs have often decapitated captured Soldiers & Sailors who are caught in the middle of this drug war that's been going on for a long time. Do you ever wonder why you need to have a one-star general sign off if you want to go to Mexico? It's because of the drugs that is often fostered by drunks and druggies who used drugs recreationally or who are addicted to it. It's actually our fault!
