Short in stature, but not in spirit. Michael Novosel was too short to fly according to standards, but that didn't stop him. At the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, he resigned his commission to take on a Warrant to fly helicopters. His tenacity led to a Medal of Honor, three Distinguished Flying Crosses, three Bronze Stars and SIXTY, yes Sixty, Air Medals. Upon retirement in 1985, he was the last WWII Pilot on active duty.
