I really think that the left side hasn't really thought this through. All they'll do is to start a civil war. Which would open us to being weakened to the point that Russia, China, heck Japan could probably hit us. One of our Presidents (Lincoln) said that if our country falls it would be from the inside. Now I like the posting you shared am not by any stretch of the imagination a legal mind. But correct me if I am wrong, but the oath I took when I was sworn in I God to protect this country from enemies both foreign and "DOMESTIC" CW5 Jack Cardwell

Lets see, we have Russia rattling the cage of the Russian Bear, we have Rocket Boy threatening to attack with his missiles, we have China getting stronger and more aggressive every day and reminiscent of Pre-Perarl Harbor Japan, and then there is Iran, ISIS and al qaeda in the Middle East that has openly said they will destroy us. What could go wrong with disarming the American public?

Apples and oranges...
Private ownership of guns in the US does not deter foreign overseas enemies from ballistic missile development. It is like saying arming regular sailors on-board a Navy surface ship at sea would help against a submarine attack.

LTC Eugene Chu - Not apples and oranges! I was not referring to what an armed population would do against missiles! I was referring to an invasion of our nation! I was referring to N. Korea as an enemy of our country, and if our populace was disarmed, don't you think they would consider an invasion of some sort? Also, The Japanese Generals and Admirals considered several paces to invade after the successful attacK on Pearl Harbor. The West coast of the mainland of US was considered, but one of the flag officers immediately dismissed this option due to the fact that almost every American citizen was armed. There was some comment about there being a rife behind every tree. Do you honestly think that Putin has not considered the fact the armed citizen in the US is like the 3rd largest standing army in the world? Do you not think that our enemies in the middle east would not cause havoc in our country given the chance? Once disarmed, they would have little fear of the US citizen!

CW5 Jack Cardwell My wife is one of those who wants strict gun control. She is generally one of the smartest people I know. When it comes to this issue, she is stubborn as a mule, and so dedicated to her view that I have given up trying to show her anything that would disprove her belief. I agree with you that this is a great article. The problem is having an open discussion. Those who oppose gun control are so militant about it, that they refuse to acknowledge facts, listen to opposing viewpoints, and won't rest until the government scoops up every gun in private ownership. That is just not realistic. In one viewpoint they want to sever the first and second amendment for those who support the Second Amendment as an individual right. First by not acknowledging our right to speak about owning guns, and second by demanding a repeal of the Second Amendment. Thankfully a repeal would require an amendment. An Amendment would have to be ratified by the states, and there are not enough Communist States in the U.S. to get such an Amendment ratified.

PO3 Jason M. - Already tried, she has no interest. I agree. I like the way he does these videos. He keeps the debate civil.
