I'm not Tom Mix, and figure if the aggressor is more than twenty yards away...I can likely evade the situation, and might be on the "fuzzy edge" of legality. I've looked at a variety of handguns rigged with optics and it just doesn't seem practical for every-day-carry (to me) . A "goal" of mine is to be able to consistently hit a grouping at ten-fifteen yards without sighting...a skill demonstrated to me by an "old Solider" that I'm still trying to master.

That said, I am interested in grip-mounted lasers...might be a "gimmick", and might be darn effective, particularly in low light or inside a structure.

MSgt Cayle Harris, asked the same thing earlier. I have some reading issues at times but haven't needed red dot/optics. Yet at least. Not sure how I feel about it.
