A fine article. I may have to check out your book recommendation, particularly since I plan on graduating next year with my MBA and will be changing careers.
For me, internships are not a workable solution, but from people I have known who have done it, its very valuable. As is networking-the great business buzzword of our time! I read somewhere that a higher percentage of hiring come from people's networks than any other single method.
In fairness however, when it comes to internships and networking, do as I say, not as I do. ;-)

MBA internship is a great temporary position. Sometimes, it will lead to a full-time job. If not, it is still something to add to resume as work experience. It especially is good for career change since it shows adaptability to new industry.
