It seems that a Chaplain like any other Clergyman is there to administer Your faith although like any clergyman see after our welfare in other ways. The bottom line is its still a job for a Minister, priest, Rabbi or other members of the clergy. I do know from Viet Nam how much the visit from a Chaplain meant to me while on post in the combat zone and His visit to me in the field. It makes no sense to Me to put people in place of a clergyman who have no belief in God. Can they help elsewhere ? , could well be but they certainly don't qualify as Chaplain's in my view.

SSgt Boyd Herrst
I go along with Doc on this issue..
why even use that title; ‘chaplain’?
“ humanist counselor?” Would be a better designation. Kind of reminds me back in the day when
I had a Airman that wanted to go to race relations.. I said you still got work to finish up.. Airman______,
Clean that kettle and you can go, only a 15 minute job.. did you have an app’t or walk-in?... I knew he was just trying to skate out the last 45 minutes.. He rolls up his apron and heads out thd door.. a couple days later I got him standing tall before the man for being U.A...
SSGT Herrst wouldn’t let me go to R.R...., I explained we only had 45 minutes left of shift time, he could do it after he got off.. the cmdr let him go with a L.O.R. And some OJT time.. he agreed with me on the he could do it after shift time... but onlygave the LOR..and OJT.. The Cmdr didn’t know about. The time
A while back he pulled that stunt
We were in Germany.. I thought he was playing to the Airmzn’s sensitivities .... because of the RR sitrep.. So I’d note it in his performance . Report the next time.. i’m Sure s’times these guys got a legit concern.. but to go Willy nilly during the shift isn’t fair to his fellow Airmen that got to pick up his load.. so he can get out of duty..
To kill time jibber jabbering how racist I was to make him clean out the Rubbermaid G.I. Barrels the clean potatoes.. came in or some other detail he thinks may be racist..

PO1 Tony Holland Good for them! A Chaplain is supposed to "minister" to the spiritual welfare of the military members. Since this person doesn't believe in any form of spiritual entity, they are specifically unable to qualify for the position. Lets all use some common sense and not rely on the emotion that just because he "wants" it, he must be allowed to have it. This is the mentality of a toddler and the ethos of the far left wing LIBTARDS!
