MoH Leonard A. Funk: U.S. paratrooper who took out 40 Germans in 60 seconds

1SG Funk, C 508th PIR was quite an individual. I am glad to say that I got to meet him twice in the early to mid 1980s during All American Week, when he would visit both battalions of the 508th PIR.

The first time, I was assigned to C 2/508th PIR; the second time, while assigned to CSC 2/508th PIR.

The In & Out Processing at Bragg used to have 1SG Funk's photo in it. I remember sitting there looking at it when arriving. 33 years later it's still stuck in my head because of his name.
