So tired of hearing how women don't get this and don't get that. This is a volunteer service and if you are doing it for what YOU get then please exit immediately. Selfless Service! Seems like a bunch of you have not embraced this or have never heard of it.

You apparently missed the context of the article. It wasn't about you, it is about their service and how they don't claim veteran status. They are not considered real because of attitudes and social judgement. I'm sorry your tired of hearing about it, but it is about their selfless service despite their experiences.

An honorably serving veteran deserves to be treated as an honorably served veteran. PERIOD! It is those that think a sexual status, gender, or any other self factor overrides the team. I extend an open invitation to all the women that served in any branch to join their American legion and/or the VFW and integrate with your male service members. IF, I misread and took out of context, I meant zero disrespect. I am just sick of some of those out their trying to make OUR military a Social Project. The truth of the matter is that the sole purpose of a military is to defend this country. In order to do such means, you have to be willing to kill the enemy that threatens freedom and democracy and or support those that are actually doing the killing and/or being killed. Those of us that have been in the fight are no more a veteran or no less a veteran, we are in fact the veteran that has actually faced the combat activities. It is an honorable thing. No less honorable than the guy who worked the ammo supply point so we have bullets, the food service personnel that get us the hot meal and absolutely those doctors and nurses that patch us up so we can get home or back into the fight. What does bother us is when those who don't see the dirty and bloody side of the battles that happen, they return home and are the super veterans. Be proud of the part of the team you play on in order to attract others to do your tasks as you move up and on to bigger and hopefully better things in life.
