DARPA is remiss if they are talking truthfully about our hypersonic program. We should keep that information close to our vest.
There are many variables associated with new weaponry becoming a Revolution in Military Affairs (RMA). The German tanks in WWII was a RMA and their doctrine of using armor to punch holes and destroying the enemy in high speed attacks was difficult to fight. As the war coalesced what contributed to neutralizing the German tanks in the totality of a war was accomplished by a variety of reasons. They could not produce enough tanks as the Russians and Americans. The Allied forces reduced the German logistics and fuel. Fighters planes attrited them in air to ground attacks, and Patton used blitzkrieg tactics against the enemy. What I am trying to convey that a new weapon system does not work in a vacuum.

Since Putin "announced" his death missile, I'd guess he's working on his election. I doubt this or much else is any surprise to our folks. DARPA and others have been far ahead for years. Remember all the black space ships seen out West years before the F-117 was made public? Just one example.

It's too bad that our own secret agencies can't come right out and throw cold water on all this karpola issuing forth from the Ruskies without giving away to them just how much we know. In the meantime, the releases were aimed at upsetting the average American in both the private and military sectors, which it seems to have done. The Ruskies get more free publicity from US, news media, social networks, professional military networks, and the like than if they had paid millions to an agent for placement.
