Thanks CW5 Jack Cardwell for sharing the perspective that the "Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command is taking a pass on the M27 after reviewing the new automatic rifle during its initial development. Simply put, the elite Marines were not impressed with the rifle’s ability plug any existing gaps in fire power and they found the weapon’s 16-inch barrel too long."
This makes sense to me since in close quarters a long barrel can be a hindrance.

Jefe, I have never fired an M27 but if the MARSOC boys are saying it is not a right fit, well it is not what they need. Spending the majority of my time in Special Operations I understand if it dont work it dont work.
