Now that we seem to be well on the way down the LCS path, is it feasible to change horses in the middle of the stream? Looks good on paper, but so did the LCS.

Ummmm... Are they paying the Saudi premium? My simple math is that the LCS is around $400-450M a piece. The Saudis are going to pay $11B for 4 and associated equipment? I know that there are other costs involved but that is 6X's...

My understanding is that the FMS case includes piers and associated shore support structure.

LCDR (Join to see) Do you remember what I suggested about the budget we talked about and how the powers that be might have known something we did not? I suggested that they knew the NATO allies would pick up some of that slack. Do you suppose this it it?

The Saudi FMS has been on the table for a while, originally they were going to buy DDGs to bolster their Ballistic Missile Defense. But yes I think a lot of our allies are beefing up their fleets. ROK, Japan, Germany, UK ect... Heck even Brazil is getting a small deck amphip.

LCDR (Join to see) - Nice! If this continues, the bad boys might have to just sit down and shut up! Now if we can get all of NATO to anti-up dues that is owed, we will not have to pick up the slack there too. Not to mention the UN dues too!.
