Statement is true. Parris Island is threatened by climate change, in about 100,000 years.

His credentials stand up to scrutiny. Asst. Commandant USMC with almost 40 years of service, 4 star General, Electrical Engineer, pilot and test pilot, and access to the best information our government has. I'll take his word for it, and have no problem with the fact that he's smarter than me.

General Mattis believes that climate change represents a significant national security threat, one that's "impacting stability in areas of the world where our troops are operating today," according his written testimony to Congress provided in January ahead of his confirmation. And I'm a Mattis believer. Glad he's looking and thinking ahead.
