KBR was not funny knowing that the guy who's cleaning your laundry makes more money than you do in a combat zone.

Yes all the contracts that ballooned under the Bush Administration is just one factor to the financial waste and abuse we still suffer today. Instead of scaling back during Obama Administration which is what I hoped for, programs like Rapid Fielding Initiatives, KBR, contract security forces, etc. continued to flourish. Not to mention, it made withdrawal efforts more convoluted and expensive with all the garbage and built up infrastructure on FOBs that was left behind.

I got three pairs of boots for Afghanistan and Iraq, that's probably why they changed it to coyote brown with the new ocp uniform because now they want you to spend the money to buy the stuff

“It’s time that we stop bickering with each other over minor political disputes and start standing up for the brave defense contractors who keep us safe,” said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), echoing the sentiments of Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and other congressional leaders as they championed the bipartisan spending increases that would provide billions of much-needed government subsidies to U.S. military companies. “We may not always see eye to eye, but both Democrats and Republicans recognize how important it is to put politics aside when we’re talking about the men and women in our private military sector.”
BULLSNOT!!!!! Govt Contractors are the lobbyists that are milking uncle sugars defense teats dry. We have military men and women going down range and when the guy that walks around scooping ice cream at the DFAC is making more money than our enlisted warriors and some of our junior officers something is wrong here folks. These companies employ folks that are voters and the Sen and Cong want to keep voters happy...so lets waste subsidy money to keep them going. From what we pay them in contracts they should be making enough to stay afloat without subsidies. IMHO.

Although, this article is complete satire at the compliments of The Onion, I agree with you that the sentiment it expresses is exactly what we suspect of our politicians in both parties. The request for money for defense has little to do with the military and more to do with defense contractors, their lobbyists, and the political campaign donors. But hey, the Army is getting a new brown beret. Hahaha!

MAJ James Woods - Gotta love Brown. I guess if you run out of fanny ribbon in the field you could in a pinch use the beret.
