ehhhhh, I can see this going badly or being abused... while I do agree something should be done, this is not the best answer.

Good article, Jim! I believe that we do give Congressmen a job performance--we can choose to reelect them or not. Yet we re-elect those that we complained about for 2 years. Although your idea is intriguing, I think it would be way too chaotic a way to run a country, and it's pretty chaotic now.

Agreed 100%. Unfortunately, once our elected officials get into office, they seem to forget their obligation to the constituents and American people that put them in power. There's a reason that in the early days of the country, elected office wasn't a paid position and senators and representatives didn't have DC Mansions. However, I would argue that this is one budget or continuance I wish wasn't passed. As Sen. Paul said, "Republicans would be 'howling to high heaven' if deficit spending was passed under President Obama." Instead, deficit spending is okay when the "conservative" party is in power. We need to balance the budget...not go more into a hole for our children and grandchildren.
