I read the book and then when the movie came out went to see it. He was a true hero for what he endured when a POW.

Maj Marty Hogan thanks for sharing bio on Louis Zamperini a prisoner of war surviver in WWll a Christian Evangelist and an Olympic distance runner and he lived in my hometown Olean NY when young.
