Rookie! Why gerrymander when you can simply import millions of voters.

True Sir.. but what would be “more legal” or “allowable” where the Law is concerned ? Would both be equally punishable offenses if/when proven to be so(would the court go harder over gerrymandering or bussing in votes?..

PO2 Robert Aitchison where I lived at one time .. a neighborhood near us was in deplorable condition.. the politician there did nothing for them.. not even a little because it would take $$ from another project whose goals were in scope with what that neighborhood wanted. Another politician wanted them.. he could see they were trying to maintain but having a hard time.. due to mitigating circumstances ; waste pick-up, Law enforcement(the politician was busy shifting protection to downtown businesses. . We. In our neighborhood pretty much took care of ourselves(CCWs, Org. Crimewatch, [cameras, alarms, dogs]).. bad people stayed away..
that other Politician got new safe condo style apartments built and good waste pickup and good security enhancements.. and he got them moved(using funds from his political funds and he was filthy rich.). I think they other party didn’t know what to call it.. it was more like stealing votes .. he just moved voters to a new neighborhood and insured his stay in cmty government.. so he was just moving voters around.. from one area to another. I seen that happen in S.E. Much. west Mi out by Grand Rapids and Benton Harbor.(Defacto redistribution of vote’s?).

True Sir, but wouldn’t that Rep need to make his district desirable to reside in. To show more votes doesn’t the district need ‘actual’
Residents to prove votes are llegit?
I sure wouldn’t want to be paid to live in a dump (via tax break). I‘D want a safe domicile, fire protection and LEO protection and other services and my valuables moved at that guy’s expense...

Sophomoric. Distraught. Sad. But there is a germ of truth in it. Americans have been manipulating elections as long as there have been elections in America. Gerrymandering only? Hell, no. Let's go back to those halcyon days of "machine politics". Ward bosses getting out the vote. You want to work? You better vote and vote often and vote the way you're told. How about the Society of St Tammany (and the Tammany Hall Scandal). No, we don't need no stinkin' Russian manipulation. They're amateurs compared to US...

Not only voting often but supporting businesses in the specific neighborhood.. People that shopped often.. even if they didn’t purchase knew what neighbors purchased and where’d they get that dresser? Certainly not from the local rip off DEPT store. They didn’t carry things that nice !
And people talk !... Don’t be surprised if a visit is paid by the local political boss. Mainly he gets gets a kickback from that local store.. if that resident didn’t purchase there, he lost a kickback. So the resident has a choice: give the political boss a percentage of the value or that new dresser falls down the basement stairs or out the upstairs window. ..

Both parties have done it but the GOP has taken it to a whole new level of diluting or concentrating the vote across districts at the State level. I'll never understand why district lines aren't based on simple geometry. This need to create homogeneous like minded political majority in districts.

MAJ James Woods - Because those in power shape the districts to include a majority of voters of their party.

MSG Stan Hutchison - And now you're just repeating what I've said and further making my point about political gerrymandering is not democratic.

When I was in the AF.. A local rep wondered why i was not voting in local elections. His next question was why I didn’t have state taxes deducted from my pay. My answer was simple.. I wasn’t stationed in Mi. (It seems that a % of state taxes withheld goes to local district). Without a withholding the State lost and the local district lost.. He had the gull to call me unpatriotic and i’m Serving in the AF providing sustenance to fellow Airmen pulling 10 hour shifts.. Answering a klaxon at O dark 30 and then being released to go back get a couple hours sleep and return at o dark 4 in the morning to Cook for and serve sustenance at breakfast ..Unpatriotic? ...uh that includes paying your local taxes..
nobody told you to sign up !... duh !
The A-hat proposed a bill to have service persons to pay taxes if they are stationed in Continental U.S.
if overseas, AK, U.S. territories Guam and out in Pacific, .. Am I glad he’s gone.. his bill died anyway..

SSgt Boyd Herrst Yes he was a classic example of a politician that would’ve never served or allow his kids to serve but has no problem with others fighting to give him the freedom to be an ignorant asshat. I agree. Plenty of politicians like that at local, state and federal level.
