California lawmaker wants to prohibit restaurants from providing plastic straws unless requested

Just when you thought Liberal insanity had reached its peak ..... They still continue to propose moronic laws. Specifically, the Democratic California's lower house Majority Leader has introduced a bill to stop sit-down restaurants from offering customers straws with their beverages unless they specifically request one. Under the proposed law, a waiter/waitress who serves a drink with an unrequested straw in it would face up to 6 months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000. The reason - one-time use plastic straws have a detrimental effects on landfills, waterways, and oceans.
