CPT Stephanie Lincoln -sounds like a ton of sugar and from all the research I've seen lately that is a major factor in poor diets, obesity, heart problems.ect ,having never had MREs they were way ,way after my time ,that time of the infamous" C" rats was our food groups back in the sixties.I am curious about how much they play a part in the everyday diet of the people deployed,we just about lived on Cs in the field but from what I've seen and read about the current troops tours in the field their dependence on these rations seem to be of a much shorter duration ,not saying the consumption of higher sugars are good at any time but at least it's for shorter periods,is this old fogey making any sense?hope so.
