SSG(P) (Join to see) great share I do feel bad for the Commander and SO but there was a lack of training on their watches but I can't help but think in this case the Navy is Scapegoating trying not to see the bigger problem.

Negligent homocide. The Navy is taking a risk by showcasing these incidents in a public trial. In doing so, they expose themselves to a harsh review of their own training and readiness levels in light of reduced fleet sizes, increased tempo and workloads on the crews, etc. This could backfire and make the Navy look reeely bad in the public light of day. Better to keep it quite, covered up, and handle the case internally...
