Before the Navajo Code Talkers of World War II, there were the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee (Creek) and Seminole Nations who fought in the 36th Infantey Division. They, like their Navajo counterparts, used their native language for secret communications to prevent the Germans from eavesdropping on their commo lines.
